Welcome to His Haven Ranch!

His Haven Ranch is a faith-based non-profit discipleship and horsemanship program located in Le Sueur County, MN. The Ranch provides a safe, fun environment for individuals ages 5+ who are experiencing some life challenges. We invite them to come to us for one-on-one mentoring and it is our goal to help them through the use of a horse. There is no charge for our services.

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom."~ 2 Corinthians 3:17

Heidi McGraw

HIS Haven Ranch was founded in 2006 by Heidi McGraw who experienced some difficult times in her life and because of her deep passion for horses, decided to use them as a means of therapy. As a result, these 4-legged friends helped to mold her into the person she is today.

“Let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.” ~ 1 John 3:18

"For the Lord grants wisdom! From His mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity. He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to Him. Then you will understand what is right, just and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. Wise choices will watch over you. Understanding will keep you safe." (Pr. 2: 6-11, NLT). Lord, help us make wise choices beginning today, in Jesus' name. (Photograph posted by our friends at Cody James, codyjames.us) ... See MoreSee Less

HIS Haven Ranch

Another testimony from a Ranch parent...

HHR has been a part of Mara and Becca’s lives since the conception. We’ve watch it grow and develop over the years. It has been an exciting ride. HHR is a huge part of the girls growth and development as individuals. We are so grateful for everything the ranch provides.

Becca has been in and out of the hospital due to her complex medical needs and the first place she always wants to go is the HHR. It is her grounding place.

Mara has special needs as well and working with the horses has helped her work through some of her emotions, anger and has given her life skills that are so important.

As a parent it warms my heart when I see their faces after they’ve worked hard on developing a new skill they’ve been working on. Watching the girls physically calm down when they are with their horse is absolutely magical. The connection between daughters & their horses is breath taking. From what I’ve observed over the years the special connection that’s developed between the horse and the rider is something that is built on love, trust and respect. I’ve seen this carry over into everyday life skills.

My girls have had to learn the true meaning of the circle of life with the passing of horses they were close to. It is very hard to experience any loss and to understand the reasons behind it. There’s always a lesson God is trying to teach us.

Horses are especially good creatures. They just know and get it. HHR provides an emotionally safe environment that gives the kids/adults a place where they can learn about themselves and thrive. Spirit is within and around everything at the ranch. You can feel it in your soul.

Laurie and Scott Bear thank you so much for making HHR a meaningful place. God bless.

"Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In His kindness God has called you to share in His eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, He will restore, support and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation. All power to Him forever! Amen." (1 Peter 5:8-11, NLT). Lord, restore, support and strengthen us, in Jesus' name. (Art by Shawn Cameron, shawncameron.com. Used by permission. Thanks, Shawn, and God bless you!) ... See MoreSee Less
